Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actor. Also, she sings. She was raised by her mom within the USA she had to face a lot of racial taunts which gave her feeling of being unwelcome. In her 9th grade when she began to gain confidence after receiving a rousing ovation during an audition. This experience did not just help the confidence of her, but also altered the direction she was heading in her life. At 22 she was a graduate of New York's Julliard School. When she was 23, she began her career making her first appearance on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot she portrayed the Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as high praise from critics. The following year, she was cast in the ABC program Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. As a professional singer She has also recorded one single and an extensive work. In addition, she has spoken out in support of LGBT concerns.
