Lita Rossana Ford Also known as Lita Ford is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist for The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of females in the late 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and provocative lyrics helped them get recognized by the rock world. The band was not able to gain a lot of attention within The United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a solo heavy metal performer after the band split from 1979. After taking vocal lessons she launched her debut solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin' On The Edge'. Ford did not achieve much with either album and was largely absent from the world of rock for 10 years. Her smashing hit, 'Lita came out in 1989. The lead song "Kiss Me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes forever" became huge hit songs. However, the success of her career was not last long and after a few years, she was absent. The resurgence of her career came with release of "Black" from 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland", almost 15 years following. The album she released was Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
